Black Cap Farm lists pawpaw (Asimina triloba) among the more than 300 Michigan native trees, shrubs, grasses and perennials it sells at its nursery in Onekama, on the M-22 route. The farm takes its name from the black-capped chickadees that live on its wooded land. It lays out its greenhouse and container stock the way a garden center would, with signs on blooms, planting and deer resistance. Plants sell in person only, six days a week from May through October, with no mail order. Not every species is ready for sale all season, and the nursery takes texts and emails about availability.
