What growers say

Susquehanna pawpaw is prized for the richest, heaviest texture of the Peterson selections, with one grower describing it as so dense and buttery it seems 'almost like a different species.' The flavor is very sweet with few seeds, and the fruit runs large. That quality comes with a trade-off growers are candid about: the tree is slow-growing and shy to bear, and because it ripens late, gardeners in the coldest zone-5 pockets report it does not always ripen in time.

Susquehanna: The most rich and heavy textured pawpaw of them all, almost like a different species in comparison.

Susquehanna is fabulous but I agree it is finicky and grows slowly.
